Where Time Slows Down by the Sea

The most beautiful beach of the Mediterranean has gained its own stone-built Byzantine tower! And thus, five centuries later, the wish of the Chrysospathi family from Constantinople was fulfilled. It was the year 1512. The Chrysospathi family, leaving Constantinople aboard their ships, was heading to Mani to settle permanently in Agios Nikolaos. Sailing through the stormy Cape Maleas at night, with strong northern winds, they found refuge in the bay of Simos. When morning came, they couldn’t believe their eyes. Around them lay a turquoise paradise with white sand dunes and a forest of stunning cedar trees. Still, they ultimately chose to settle in the well-fortified region of Mani.

Today

one of their descendants has brought that dream to life — and invites you to experience it too: a journey back to that era, in a building inspired by Byzantine architecture, where the materials reign supreme — Elafonisos stone, terracotta tiles, and walnut wood from Mount Athos. All under the ever-radiant Greek sun, beside the same CRYSTAL-CLEAR TURQUOISE WATERS of the MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACH in the MEDITERRANEAN.
